Elbit has developed several types of environmental monitoring using bioindicators. The system described below enables continuous monitoring of water quality by observing the behavior of freshwater mussels. The system consists of a device and accompanying software installed on a Windows computer. The system responds to changes in water parameters (toxins, pollutants) by displaying appropriate messages in the device's operating program.

ELBIT has developed laboratory water quality testing devices based on freshwater mussels (described below) and fish using the CPP-02 videotracker system.
