The device was created at the request of one of the universities in Krakow. It is used for preparing samples for a scanning electron microscope.

The polisher allows for grinding or electrolytic polishing of the sample placed in a special "holder." The user can fully control this process, as they have continuous measurements of the voltage and current applied to the sample, along with the ability to adjust the pump's efficiency and the sensitivity of the alarm.

The polisher has internal short-circuit protection and an optical and acoustic alarm for sample perforation.
