The station is used to conduct experiments related to various heat pump operation modes.
The station consists of a heat pump and exchangeable heat sources. The lower heat source is a simulator of a ground-source heat exchanger with a capacity of approximately 120 liters and an air heater.
The upper heat source is a simulator of a DHW tank with a capacity of approximately 80 liters, a water heater, or a small section of an underfloor heating system (with an area of approximately 2 m²). Source switching is performed using ball valves and manual control valves.
Both buffer tanks are equipped with additional temperature sensors and vertical level gauges.
The station also includes a desktop computer with an application for collecting and visualizing measurements.
