ELBIT has developed an upgrade for the Philips SEM 525M scanning microscope attachment called EDAX.
The upgraded system includes:

a detector;
a chemical analyser with a PC and ISA software;
a set of cables

During the modernization, we did not make any modifications to either the detector itself or the preamplifier mounted on it. The signal from the detector enters the upgraded analyzer box via three cables.

The entire processing occurs within this module. The box also contains a PC board with software that allows for the analysis of the measurements taken. During the modernization work, it was decided to retain four original electronic boards (the "185" amplifiers, the "ADCA" and "ADCD" converters, and the "MCA" memory board). The remaining blocks were either built or replaced with modern electronics and software.

The software for operating the upgraded chemical analyzer in its basic version looks as follows: from the command bar, you can quickly invoke a number of commands related to the data and enable the setting of measurement parameters. The measured data can be freely saved and read from the computer's hard drive.
