Elbit collaborated on the development of a flame analyser.
As part of the PROTEUS programme (http://www.projektproteus.pl), a four-channel fire spectrum diagnostic system was developed at the Institute of Electronic Materials Technology.
The system consists of four spectral analysis channels – two in the ultraviolet range and two in the infrared range. Selective UV detectors were designed and manufactured at the Department of Materials Applications AIIIBV headed by Prof. Lech Dobrzański, PhD. Commercial detectors were used in the infrared range, but the optical system was manufactured at ITME in the form of three-dimensional diffractive lenses. The entrance pupil of the lens had a diameter of 25 mm, and the detector size was 1 x 1 mm, which improved the signal-to-noise ratio. Below is a lens etched in a silicon wafer and a three-dimensional image of the lens surface made with a microdiffractometer.
