The test rig is used to test windows and doors for hurricane resistance. Standards: EN, ASTM E1886-05 and TAS.
The test rig consists of two separate launchers for light
and heavy projectiles mounted on a scissor lift, as well as control and measurement systems.
The test rig can be used as a stand-alone unit or, when connected to a computer via an RS485/USB link, as a remote-controlled system.
Both launchers operate by propelling the projectile using compressed air stored in a buffer tank. The muzzle velocity of the projectiles depends non-linearly on the pressure to which the tank is charged. A single mounted tank serves both launchers.
When folded, the compact version fits into a transport space measuring 100x180x80cm.
