ELBIT has developed a special transducer for transmission microscopes. This device is approximately the size of a photographic film cassette and is placed centrally under the electron gun.

The transducer's main component is a plate with a sputtered phosphor. The sample image displayed on it is digitized and transmitted to a computer in digital form. After preprocessing (in the software section), it is displayed on a PC screen.

The special correction component allows for the reduction of geometric distortions in the image, so that it closely matches the original. The software includes a component for diffraction analysis. The program automatically identifies the nodes of the crystal lattice and then calculates essential information about each node.

The software is very user-friendly. In addition to classic image adjustment parameters such as brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation, it also enables control of the correction component which includes:

• color or black-and-white scanning;
• negative function;
• low-pass filters;
• brightness and contrast correction with adjustable boundary parameters;
• high-pass filters;
• edge detection function;
• deconvolution function;
• artificial color addition function;
• multi-color addition function.

Depending on the needs, we use various types of image sensors:

• 640x480 pixels;
• 800x600 pixels;
• 1600x1200 pixels and more.

Other parameters:

• number of colors: 24 million;
• file formats: BMP, JPG, TIF, AVI.
