A high-current surge generator, also known as a high-voltage power supply, is a device used to test the resistance of equipment to impulse surge currents and for educational demonstrations.

The principle of operation is based on the controlled charging of high-voltage capacitor batteries to a specified voltage, followed by a controlled high-current discharge.
